Duxbury Bay Maritime School Wedding | Amanda & Kevin

Kevin and Amanda are married:)! I had to kick off their blog post with one of their favorite moments from their day (and also a favorite of mine:)….pulling up to their reception at the Duxbury Bay Maritime School in a boat (and with sunglasses;)!

Amanda’s day started off with her girls and family at her childhood home…

This table was made by one of Amanda’s brothers while he was in school and it still serves as the family’s coffee table!

At our final meeting, I had goosebumps as Amanda told me about her earrings…they were custom made incorporating her Aquamarine birthstone with diamonds from her mother’s engagement and grandmother’s wedding ring.

As we were outside doing a little toast, Amanda’s nieces arrived!

Holly, Amanda’s sister-in-law, put the final touches on her daughters and got them in their dresses:) These girls take right after their mother – as sweet as can be:)!

Grandma love:)

Amanda and Kevin’s day was full of sentimental touches including this little custom made hanky!

The sweetest girls and those dresses are perfection:)

An emotional “first-look” with dad and then a fun one with the girls:)!

Out in Amanda’s yard, we did a few family pictures and photos with the ladies…These are Amanda’s two sister-in-laws – Kevin’s sister and her brother’s wife/Maid-of-honor Holly:)!

The Petersen clan:)!

While I was spending time at Amanda’s home getting ready, my fabulous second photographer Jessica McHale headed to the Bed and Breakfast where Kevin, his family and the guys were getting ready!

Kevin has a niece and a nephew too! They are his sister’s children and oh-so-cute:)!

St. Mary of the Sacred Heart in Hanover is where Amanda’s parents were married and now they are watching their daughter get married in the same spot:)

I love these photos that Jessica captured as everyone was getting ready to come up the isle…

Pure joy:) The moments after the ceremony are always so happy!! Any nerves are gone and you are officially married!

After some family formals behind the church, the little ones headed home and the grown-ups headed to Powder Point for some photos before the cocktail hour!

Back at the Duxbury Bay Maritime School, cocktail hour was about to begin and Jessica headed straight there to capture some of the happenings and the get the grand entrances of the wedding party!

The wedding party loaded the boat, and headed over to DBMS!

With it being low tide, the walk down to the boat was a little steep but part of the adventure:)!

I am in love with the boat ride over…A private few minutes for the couple, photos with their DBMS venue in the back drop and a super fun way to make an entrance:)!

Inside DBMS, the room was set and there was even one more surprise from Kevin on the sweetheart table!

Kevin also made the cake stand which looked fabulous:)!

I love that at the Duxbury Bay Maritime School they can easily do a whole group photo of all of your guests AND get a water view:)!!

After the toasts we snuck out for a few sunset pictures…

Back inside and after dinner, we kicked off the rest of the reception with cake cutting and parent dances and then the partying began:)!

Amanda and Kevin – Thank you so much for having me! I loved being a part of your day and watching the love of family you all have! I wish you all the best:)!

Bride/Groom Questions

What was the most memorable moment of your day?

Definitely the boat ride entrance! It was treacherous getting down to it, but seeing all of our guests on the lawn from the water was amazing. So fun!

What was your favorite detail?

Kevin: the unexpected detail of just how beautiful the sunset over the water was and how special of a moment that created.
Amanda: seeing our vision for everything come to life after 18 months of planning

  Any advice for future brides/grooms?

Eat! Make sure you make time to eat your meal…you’ll be pulled in a hundred directions. Also, take in what you can for moments, but there is so much you will still miss.

Funniest memory from your wedding day?

Amanda’s veil catching a crustacean while taking photos on the beach

If you could do it all over, would you change anything?

No! We’d do it exactly the same, but clone ourselves and be in different places so we could see more of our day. Slow down time maybe?

Where did you go on your honeymoon?

Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Oslo, and London to see the Red Sox play the Yankees!
