Allison & Ryan | Wedding at Ocean Edge Resort, Brewster, MA

September 20th was a gorgeous day for a gorgeous wedding! Allison and Ryan had a day filled with lots of friends and family – and many that traveled a distance for them – including themselves:)!

My day started and ended in the Carriage House on the Ocean Edge property! Allison was getting ready in a suite that was just off the back deck! When I arrived, she was finishing up her make-up and I grabbed her details to photograph…Her niece/flower girl was a big help carrying everything and she even suggested hanging the necklace before I even had it ready:)!! She may have a future in wedding photography;)  I absolutely LOVE the shoe pictures – now these special people were able to walk up the isle with Allison!

Back inside, the girls presented Allison with a gift and a scrapbook:)!

Ryan also had a gift for AllisonThis is my helper:)! Sweet as can be:)!Mom and the girls helped Allison with her dress and jewelry and then we wrapped up with a few pictures of Allison:)!Before heading to the church we stepped outside and did some pictures of the girls and of Allison with her parents – On the left is her sister and Matron of Honor!
Over at the villa’s, my second shooter for the day – Sharon of Bittersweet books, was capturing the guys!Allison had a gift for Ryan too:)!Then everyone was off to meet at the church:)!Sharon was able to capture these next couple when she arrived early with the guys!
I am in LOVE with this picture Sharon captured:)!Read their questionnaire below if you want the story about this next picture:)!This is one of Sharon’s captures too:)!On our way back to Ocean Edge we stopped at the Gristmill for some formals:)!

Back at Ocean Edge, Sharon was capturing the details and some cocktail deliciousness:)!

Allison, Ryan, the videographer and I, hopped on a shuttle bus to bring us down to the beach for the last of our pictures:)!
Before the reception even began, Ryan and his guys christened the photo booth and the props became part of the intros and the crowd:)!We moved into the dining area for the toasts dinner and cake cutting:)The Carriage House from the front! Then back to the dance floor for the parent dances and the kick off to a crazy night of NON-STOP dancing!  The dance floor was packed the whole night!!Allison and Ryan snuck into the photo-booth and I happened to notice:)! I don’t think they even saw my lens peeking in there:)!We also snuck outside for a JMU picture!Allison’s family had a special moment to a song that they had chosen:)!The rest of the night was spent partying!“Hands – touching hands!”….how can you end the night without hearing Sweet Caroline:)!
Allison and Ryan ended the evening with a sparkler exit:)! This was my first time walking through a tight walkway with sparklers going off and it was a bit scary – I had to get used to it (or take my mind off it by snapping away:)!
Allison and Ryan – congratulations to you both – and to your fabulous families too! I wish you all the best!!

Bride/Groom Questions

What was the most memorable moment of your day?

Groom: Seeing Allison walk down the aisle.

Bride: Having Ryan shake my hand rather than take my hand when my father gave me away.

What was your favorite detail?

Groom: Having a bar on the dance floor – our reception took place in 3 rooms and having the bars placed strategically enabled everyone to stay on the dance floor and enjoy themselves!

Bride: It’s a tie for me: I loved our ring bearer pillow which was made out of my grandmother’s wedding gown and I also loved having photo charms of my grandfathers on my shoes so they could be with me as I walked down the aisle.

Any advice for future brides/grooms?

Take the time to plan out your ceremony readings and music for the reception to ensure both are reflective of your personalities – while it may seem daunting, it’s worth it in the end!  Also, be sure to eat and caffeinate when necessary – it’s an exciting but exhausting day and you want to be able to put your best foot forward for photos, for your guests and your significant other!

Funniest memory from your wedding day?

Groom: The photo booth props and dancing with my best man.

Bride: Another tie for me! Ryan was so excited my wedding band fit that he forgot to say the vows. And another funny moment was our first dance – where we were both so uncomfortable being in the spotlight that we began busting out some awkward dance moves.

If you could do it all over, would you change anything?

Other than having a cup of coffee before photos and eating more cake at the reception, we wouldn’t change a thing! The day was absolutely flawless – gorgeous weather, great friends and family, INCREDIBLE vendors (highly recommend everyone we worked with – everyone worked together as a team to make our day perfect ensuring everything ran smoothly!) a beautiful ceremony and a bumping dance floor. We couldn’t have asked for a better way to celebrate the start of our lives together!

Where did you go on your honeymoon?

We went to South America – backpacking through Brazil and Peru! Highly recommend Peru and Machu Picchu for anyone interested in a more adventurous honeymoon – the landscape and history are awe inspiring!
