Alex and Jay | Cape Cod Engagement Photographer

Alex and Jay are getting married next year and I am so excited to be a part of their day! I first met these two last year at Jay’s cousin’s wedding! Jay was tearing up the dance floor (check it out:) and it already has me excited for the party that these two are going to have!

A little over a week ago, I met these two in Bourne, at Alex’s family’s house, to do their engagement session. I had never actually been to this area and what a fabulous little hidden gem it is! There were multiple little beaches within walking distance for us to explore! They even brought their pup down for a few photos at the end of the session and she was an adorable ball of energy! I think she takes after her parents because these two are full of life, laughter and happiness….I want to hang out with them every weekend!!

Take a peek at our time together below and be on the lookout in just about a year for their big day!

How did he propose | We were on vacation at my parent’s cape house for a week and decided to take a trip to Martha’s Vineyard for a night. We go to Martha’s Vineyard with his family every September, so I thought nothing of it. Every time we go on vacation he always says he wants to rent a scooter, so I finally gave in on this trip. We stopped at Bad Martha’s, our favorite brewery and then were continuing on to a restaurant in Edgartown when he said he took a “wrong” turn. We pulled over at the Edgartown Harbor Lighthouse where we decided to hop off the scooter and take a picture. We took a selfie on the pathway down to the lighthouse, but it came out horrible (as they usually do). Jay decided to bug some women who were just trying to enjoy their cocktails on the porch of the Harbor View hotel to take a picture of us. As I got picture ready, he whispered to the lady to take a video because he was about to propose! I had NO idea and was so excited I actually grabbed the ring right from him! Safe to say it was a yes. We celebrated the rest of the night in Martha’s Vineyard. When we returned the next day we had plans to meet a few friends for drinks, but Jay was not done with the surprises. We showed up at a bar in Quincy where Jay had set up a surprise engagement party with all our closest friends and family. It was the best weekend ever!
