Rhodes on the Pawtuxet | Lynnea & Ty

When they say “April showers brings May flowers”, they aren’t joking! This has been a RAINY April month, so we better get a lot of flowers;)! Lynnea and Ty’s day looked like it might be another one of those rainy days and although it started out that way (and I had the umbrellas ready:), they never needed them! Their day worked out perfectly and the clouds actually helped us on their backyard dock!

The day started at their house with the girls upstairs and the guys down. Ty’s college friends came in with a special delivery of Ty’s favorite things just as I went down to say hello:)!

Ty and Lynnea exchanged letters that they had written for each other.

Lynnea and Ty had a lot of special touches (and stops:) throughout their day, that made it special to them. This was a surprise that Lynnea actually had for Ty. He believed that he was waiting for their actual first look, but in actuality, Lynnea was about to surprise him by wearing his high school baseball jersey – which is where they met! These two have been together since high school! Ty’s reaction was ADORABLE!

Back inside, we did a quick photo and everyone got ready so that Lynnea could get in her dress for their “real” first-look:)

After photos at the house, we headed to the church in Foxboro. Their hometown and mine also:)!

Special cuff links for the guys – big patriots fans with a couple stragglers mixed in LOL:)

These are the three grandmothers – two for Ty and one for Lynnea – all chatting it up and giggling away before the ceremony!

These ladies on the left are Lynnea’s two sisters:)! I went to high school (and played field hockey:) with Leah on the left and had the pleasure of photographing Heather & JJ’s wedding at Ocean Cliff! I was so excited to be back with this fabulous family again!

After the ceremony, Lynnea and Ty walked out back behind the church to the memorial garden in honor of Ty’s mom. They had a quiet moment together.

One of my favorite special touches of the day was a quick pit stop at Foxboro High School – where these two met and became class couple their senior year! The church was directly next to the high school, so it made it super easy to make a stop and they are some of my favorite pictures from the day – so special to them (and fun for me too:)!

Our next stop was at the Temple to Music for the full wedding party photos!

When we arrived at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet, we wrapped up with some family photos before joining cocktail!

Rhodes on the Pawtuxet has an extremely large space but feels warm and cozy due to the lighting and added ceiling decor!

The reception kicked off with crazy fun intros and went right into speeches (first dance was saved for later:).

We did some large family group photos for both sides of the family and then cake cutting kicked off the dances!

Lynnea and Ty – Thank you so much for having me! I LOVED being a part of your day and hope we get to see each other again soon!!

Bride/Groom Questions

What was the most memorable moment of your day?

We had planned to have a first look before the ceremony to calm nerves and help with timing. What Ty didn’t know was that I wasn’t coming out in my dress, but instead, I was coming out in his baseball jersey from high school. Ty was wearing this jersey the day he asked me to be his girlfriend 11 years ago, and again when he proposed. I thought it only fitting for it to also be worn on the day we get married. He had no idea and his face was priceless when he turned around expecting a big poofy dress and instead got me wearing yoga pants and a baseball jersey. The moment was a reflection of the fun and silliness we keep present in our relationship, and as Ty keeps saying, it truly set the tone for a fun and relaxed wedding day.

What was your favorite detail?

Ty – Instead of saying our own vows at the church, we decided to write each other a letter to be read the morning of the wedding. Both writing and reading these letters made me reflect on our relationship and look back on all the good times we had, and all the tough times we made it through together.

Lynnea – For our cake topper, we chose one that says “You’re My Favorite” because Ty says that to me almost every day of our lives. It was just another reminder of our love being present in every detail of the day.

Any advice for future brides/grooms?

Do what you want to do. Don’t let people tell you that things have to be done a certain way, because they don’t. It is your day, and it can be as traditional or non-traditional as you want it to be. You can make anything work if you have the right people helping you. Be comfortable with flexibility on the big day and just go with the flow. Lastly, if you are someone who doesn’t like attention and are worried about being in the spotlight, don’t be. Your focus remains on each other all day and the spotlight doesn’t seem as bright as you pictured all because you have your new husband/wife right beside you.

Funniest memory from your wedding day?

Ty – Dancing with my friends, particularly my closest friends and family, topping it all off with a stone cold stunner from the best man.

Lynnea – Laughing and singing along with the bridal party on the bus to the venue. We had a pretty great group of people to keep us laughing the whole ride.

If you could do it all over, would you change anything?

Not a thing. We just wish it didn’t go by so fast!

Where did you go on your honeymoon?
