Ocean Cliff Wedding | Emilie & Mark

Emilie and Mark had a magical day at Ocean Cliff in Newport AND they were part of the first weekend where the mask mandates were lifted!! It couldn’t have worked out more perfectly!

After a stressful year, all of my couples in 2021 deserve a fantastic day and Emilie and Mark got one! Their day was filled with their closest family and friends and included so many personal touches…personalized gifts for the parents (see their emotional reactions below;), beautiful gifts for each other, matching hoodies for all of the girls (that also came out at the end of the night too!), a gorgeous venue and backdrop for their ceremony, reception and all of the photos AND a sunset that surprised us and peeked out from behind the clouds just as it hit the horizon!

Take a peek at their fantastic day below and don’t forget to read their responses!

Emilie and Mark – Thank you so much for including me in your day!! It was so great to see you all again and meet the parents behind all of the fabulous “kids”!! Congrats to all!!

Bride/Groom Questions

What was the most memorable moment of your day?

Emilie – My favorite part was the ceremony. Our officiant asked us each to privately email her how we knew the other person was the one. It was such an emotional moment for me. To see Mark cry made me feel so loved!

Mark – My favorite moment was the last song of the night. We were able to celebrate with all of our friends and family. It was amazing that we were actually able to see all of their mask-less, smiling faces.

What was your favorite detail?

Emilie – My favorite details were the gifts I gave to my parents. It was such a special moment to surprise my mom with her clutch and my dad with his tie. They had no idea I had added pictures of them with me as a baby and it felt super special to have those moments with them!  Another moment I really loved was during our first dance. Mark is really bad with song lyrics, but as we danced, he knew every word to our song and told me, “I’ve been practicing!”

Mark – I loved the wooden guest book we had!  When we got home, we hung it above our bed and it will always remind us of our wedding day!

Any advice for future brides/grooms?

Embrace the photos!  It may feel like a lot in the moment, but when you see those photos for the first time it is 100% worth it!  It helps you relive the best day of your life!

(**I just have to add that this was the utmost compliment! It made my day hearing that it came from Mark too after just the Facebook Sneak Peek!**)

Funniest memory from your wedding day?

We included a Wine Box tradition in our ceremony. As our officiant explained to our guests that we put a box of wine and love letters in the box to read and drink on our fifth anniversary, Emilie whispered to Mark, “there’s no wine in this box!”  She forgot he was mic’d up and all of their guests heard her and laughed!

If you could do it all over, would you change anything?

Honestly, no!  It was the most amazing day!  To see that many people, gathered in one place to celebrate us, after a year like the one we had, we had such a feeling of gratitude!  If anything had gone wrong, we probably wouldn’t even have noticed!

Where did you go on your honeymoon?

Emilie is a teacher, so the honeymoon will be at the end of June.  We are heading to our favorite spot in Florida – Vero Beach!
