Hannah & Mike | Wedding at Independence Harbor, Assonet, MA

On September 14th, I had the pleasure of photographing Hannah and Mike’s wedding at Independence Harbor.  They had a morning ceremony so my day started before the sun even came up as I headed to meet Hannah and her girls getting ready! Our morning was relaxing and so enjoyable!! The team of hair and make-up ladies were FANTASTIC! they were a joy to have there and they were so speedy and incredible at what they do – I would highly recommend them!
This season I haven’t  many days that included hair and make-up coverage and I have missed it! It was SO much fun to get to cover it for Hannah!Once the ladies were ready and had gathered everything they needed, we met Hannah’s mom at Independence Harbor and helped Hannah into her dress!
Gorgeous – inside and out:)! I am absolutely in love with Hannah’s dress – I truly believe that this style is becoming more and more popular! Strapless gowns still seem to be the style that I see the most, but I think this style is catching right up to it…so elegant!Outside, I did some pictures with the guys before the ceremony even began:)The ceremony was held outside on the grounds and it was a perfect day for it!I LOVE this entrance…Watching Hannah and her dad come across the lawn gave me goosebumps:)!Mike’s niece (and now Hannah’s too:), was awesome during the ceremony! She looked and acted adorably and so well behaved!Love this quiet moment of Hannah’s parents holding hands during the ceremony..I am not sure if you can already tell by the photos, but Hannah and Mike are just awesome! They are happy and kind people and their day was truly about the two of them getting married. They were”in the moment”, as they say, and enjoying every bit of the entire day!  Their fabulous families…This is Mike’s brother and his family – which is about to become a family of four in not too long:)!We wrapped up cocktail hour with pictures of the newly married pair:)!As I scroll down through their pictures, I just smile – I love them and their happiness:)!Inside, the reception was about to begin – throughout the day, I was able to squeeze in pictures of their details and one of the most important items in the room was their cake! Hannah’s mother made the cake (Specialty Wedding Cakes by Heather LaPlante) so I was sure to get a ton of photographs of it from every angle! Beautifully made!

Their reception kicked off with quick intros and a speech and toast by Hannah’s sister and father and then brunch was served!

After everyone had finished eating, they kicked off the rest of the reception with the cake cutting and then went into their first dance and parent dance followed…take a peek…The rest of the afternoon was spent with a little bit of dancing, just a couple of group photos, and a lot of spending time with people that are special to them!We headed outside with Mike and his friends for toast/tradition and of course a group shot too:)!

A lot of the afternoon was spent outdoors because the incredible weather was just too hard to pass up! I spent my time in, out and around photographing all of the little happenings and some of the grounds too:)!

Hannah and Mike decided not to call everyone back in to do a formal final dance, and they were even going to skip it all together but at the last moment, Mike pulled Hannah out there and they two of them were adorable together – they had some fun and it was the perfect end to their day!
As I left them, this was the final sight – spending time with friends:)!

Hannah and Mike – congratulations to you both – I wish you the best and hope that we get to cross paths again in the future!

What was the most memorable moment of your day?

Mike- Saying “I do”

 What was your favorite detail?

Hannah- My Mom and the florist surprised me by putting a rhinestone butterfly in my bouquet. Butterflies are very special to my Mom and I so this was such a special surprise!

Mike- I liked the centerpieces because although they were simple, they said a lot about us.

Any advice for future brides/grooms?

Mike- Take a moment to step back and look in on your wedding

Hannah- Although its good to pay attention to detail, its also good to be laid back and go with the flow. You’ll have more fun that way!

If you could do it all over, would you change anything?

No, we loved every detail 🙂
