nicole & joe | Wedding at the Seaport Hotel, Boston, MA

On Saturday of Memorial Day weekend, I had the pleasure of photographing Nicole and Joe’s wedding! When we had met earlier in the week for our final meeting, the forecast was sunny and 70’s…but by the time Saturday arrived, it was in the 40’s, raining and super windy…another crazy New England day! Despite the weather, we had a fantastic day – we were not about to let it get us down!

When I arrived at the Seaport Hotel, I was greeted by the sweetest group of bridesmaids ever! Not a single one of them had met me before, but you would NEVER know it! They were all smiles, warm and welcoming…I could absolutely hang out with Nicole and her friends:)!

When I arrived, the girls helped pull out and gather all of Nicole’s details, while she was finishing up her make-up!Love this next shot – make-up perfection:)!I love the detail of the matching robes and they were even embroidered for each girl – just one of the many details of the day!
This was the view from the room – I kept peeking out to see if the weather was clearing – we were hopeful based on the hourly forecast:)!Nicole’s mom (and family) flew in from California for the wedding!
Just stunning:)!

While we were wrapping up at the hotel, the boys, along with my second shooter for the day – the fun and fabulous Sarah Kristiansen, were headed to the Boston College Campus on the trolley! They ate a little lunch, walked around and then got ready to greet the guests!

The trolley swung back to scoop us up and take us to the ceremony too!On the way out, the rain was coming down, so we used the church for our family formals and then did a few on the steps before heading back to the Seaport! With the rain and wind at full steam ahead, we found several overhangs that could work for us!The girls may not agree that this overhang worked so well – with a gust of wind, the rain from the branches came right down on them – there definitely was a little shrieking and then some giggling:)!When the rain slowed a bit, we put the umbrellas to good use and I am glad that we did! The crazy part was that every minute or two, one of them would literally be blown inside out – but we rolled with it:)After the group shot, we lasted a couple minutes and then headed in to warm up a bit!Sarah helped us find a different covered spot for the ladies! The group on the left is the BC girls and on the right are the Cali girls! Nicole’s sister and childhood friend who made the trip with her husband Doug (my hubby is a Doug too – that is how I remember it :)!Coordinating Coach purses to go with the coordinating robes:)!

Just before cocktail hour we grabbed a few more shots outdoors and then headed in for the rest of the fun evening!

The room looked great and the colors popped!

Sarah took care of the ring shots, while I mingled into cocktail hour and got some group shots! I LOVE what she did with them:)!!Sarah caught the dip! I was on Joe’s backside – total different viewpoint – haha! This is the end of the dip:)!The speeches were great!! Joe’s best-man tied in hysterical stories all the way from pre-school and Mari brought in the college connection – which is where they met…at BC!Of course there was a big BC shot!Love this one that Sarah grabbed too!During the reception it actually stopped raining and we were able to step out for just a minute to get some night shots!
Crazy gorgeous sky too!

The rest of the night was full of some crazy dancing…The top left picture below is of Nicole’s sister and her husband, along with his parents! They all made the trip from CA to be part of Nicole and Joe’s day! On the top right you may be able to guess the song….the line goes “hands…touching hands….” Can you place it:)!The night wrapped up with a final dance surrounded by friends and family:)!

Nicole and Joe – thank you so much for finding me:)! Your day was great regardless of the weather that wanted to work against us:)! I hope that you enjoyed your mini-moon…you were rewarded with summer weather to enjoy:)!! Congratulation again!
