Lindsey and John | Wedding at Shining Tides, Mattapoisett, MA

Almost a few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of heading back to Shining Tides in Mattapoisett for the second time in 2014:)! Such a great venue and such a fabulous couple! Our day started in New Bedford for getting ready and the first look! It is rare for me to find the girls ahead of schedule when I arrive, but this was one of those times:)!!  Everything felt laid back, comfortable and easy, during our time together getting ready:)!Lindsey looked beautiful! At their engagement session, I learned that she is a marathon runner AND she wanted to do a marathon just weeks before the wedding!! John convinced her not to add that to her plate:)!

When I headed up to meet up with John, I wasn’t sure what I would find because we thought he was a little late getting to the hotel BUT once again, I was so impressed with how quickly he pulled it all together:)! You can sometimes underestimate the speed of guys (especially when they don’t want to upset their bride to be:)!

John and I walked over to the cobblestone streets of New Bedford and waited for Lindsey to meet us:)!

These two are just adorable and their first look was the same!

We explored the area around our spot (and tried to keep cool) while waiting for the bridal party to join us!

Once we arrived at Shining Tides, we did a few more pictures of Lindsey and John before we tucked her away before the guests began arriving!

Love the little seagull in this shot:)!

While Lindsey was tucked away, I grabbed some photos of the room and details! I loved the whole look of their centerpieces and was SO amazed that Lindsey’s mom did the flowers herself with mainly flowers from her garden!! Beautiful!

I heard a guest say that the cake topper was a combination of both of their parent’s cake toppers….

Home-made corn hole boards – a big hit:)!

John and his grandma:) Both Grandmother’s (Lindsey’s too) were so much fun!!

John’s Best Man walked his mom up the isle….

and Lindsey’s mom and dad walked her up the isle:)!

After some family formals, we did just a few more pictures of Lindsey and John with their rings on:) before they joined cocktail!

The candles were now lit and the reception was set to begin:)!

After parent dances, the fun began:)!

Have to end with a favorite:)!

Lindsey and John – congratulations to you both and thank you SO much for choosing me to be a part of your day!

Bride/Groom Questions

What was the most memorable moment of your day?

John: Seeing Lindsey at the “First Look”.  She looked so beautiful and it hit me how excited I was for the rest of the day.

Lindsey: A tie between the “First Look” and the ceremony.  Seeing John for the first time made all of my nerves for the afternoon ahead go away and I was able to relax.  Our ceremony was also one of my favorite moments because it was so personal to us.  We spent a long time writing it – and our officiant, John’s cousin Kelly, did a fantastic job!

What was your favorite detail?

John: The “corn hole” boards, because I built them with one of the groomsman and we had a friend do a wonderful job painting them for us!

Lindsey: The centerpieces! My bridesmaids and our families spent months searching what seemed like hundreds of stores for lanterns for me…and my mother spent all morning the day of the wedding putting together the flowers (most of which came from her garden!).

Any advice for future brides/grooms?

John: Enjoy the day because it is over in a flash.

Lindsey:  Don’t stress about the little things. The most important thing is having all your friends and family there to celebrate with you. No one cares what the placecards look like!

.

Funniest memory from your wedding day?

John:  Lindsey nervously laughing so loud before the ceremony that everyone could hear her before she came out!

Lindsey: One of the groomsmen ripped the seam of his pants before the ceremony even started!

If you could do it all over, would you change anything?

We would have told the guests that the bus was leaving 10 minutes before it actually did!

Where did you go on your honeymoon?

Canary Islands – La Gomera and Tenerife
