Allison & Craig | Wequassett Resort Wedding, Cape Cod

Allison and Craig were married at the Wequassett Resort on a gorgeous September day on Cape Cod.  The day ran the gamut of weather, from starting out cloudy, to partly sunny, to full on sun and then wrapping up with thick, thick fog. It was absolutely fantastic and without a drop of rain! I started my day early with a few photos of the resort before finding Allison and her bridesmaids!

The girls were in process – some were in the room wrapping up hair and others were in Allison’s mom’s room, working on make-up!

Mom arrived back to her room to take a peek at Allison’s progress…

Before I headed over to see how the guys were doing, we had to capture the girls before they got their dresses on and ABSOLUTELY get a picture of their coordinating flip-flops – a gift from Allison customized for each girl!

These two cuties are Allison’s nieces!

When I arrived, the guys were struggling a bit with their ties – Craig was the expert and trying to help everyone!

Back in Allison’s room, it was time to get the dress on – her sister helped her into it…

The grounds at the Wequassett are just gorgeous -photographically gorgeous everywhere you look! This spot was near where the girls were getting ready, so we had to do a couple of quick pictures before we whisked Allison away for her first look with Craig!

I chose a spot for their first look by the main building at the Wequassett. Gorgeous gardens, stone stairs and a view of the ocean. Beautiful from every angle!  I absolutely love how Craig scrunched his eyes closed just before Allison touched him – adorable!

After they had a few minutes to themselves (and a couple of photos:) Their bridal party joined us!

I am in love with these boutineers!

The sister’s – Allison’s sister and Craig’s too!

These guys grew up in the Cape and I heard that a couple of them even worked here at the Wequassett growing up!

After we wrapped up our picture time, the ceremony was about to begin..

Such an amazing ceremony view at the Wequassett! Allison and Craig had a full range of weather on their wedding day and the sun came out in full force for most of their ceremony!

Allison’s niece carried the actual rings on the pillow – she did a great job (and she was a killer dancer later that evening:)!

The pure happiness right after the ceremony:)!!

Allison, Craig and I snuck away for a few minutes while guests moved into cocktail hour…We wanted to take advantage of a bit more of the scenery around the Wequassett grounds.

This dock at the Wequassett is one of my favorite spots – I absolutely love it anytime of day and these two made it that much more fabulous! They exude joy and happiness!!

On our way back up to enter cocktail we made one last stop:)

Allison and Craig were announced into cocktail! They were having such a large wedding, so the format was just a bit different (more on that in a bit:)!

As Allison, Craig and the rest of the guests were enjoying an outdoor cocktail hour, the room was being set up for dinner.

Inside the ballroom, the space was filled with tables, ready for some toasts and dinner!

Once everyone was seated, Allison’s father did a greeting/toast and had excellent comedic timing! Allison’s sister also have a toast and Craig’s best man too!

As the day turned to night and the guests were enjoying dinner, the outdoor space was flipped into the space for the evening reception and dance floor – with a fabulous band to top it off!

Allison worked at Sundae School growing up – an ice cream shop down the Cape – and in honor of that, Sundae School sundaes were served!

Allison and Craig – I am so happy for the two of you and have enjoyed every minute of working with you through the planning, engagement session and the wedding day:)!! Thank you for allowing me to be a part of it! I wish you all (your families too:) – the BEST:)!!

Bride/Groom Questions

What was the most memorable moment of your day? It was so nice to spend the first few minutes after the ceremony away from the crowd for some pictures of just the two of us on the dock. We were also able to have a glass of wine together outside after dinner and before our first dance, which was a fun time to catch up and take it all in.

What was your favorite detail? We loved how seriously our niece, Jamey, took her ring-bearing responsibilities…especially since she insisted on carrying the real rings!

Any advice for future brides/grooms? Don’t be afraid to change (or ditch) wedding traditions that don’t appeal to you. We didn’t have a cake, we were introduced to cocktail hour instead of dinner, we had our guests join in partway through our first dance, etc. and all of those choices helped make the wedding feel like our own.

Funniest memory from your wedding day? Our 11 year old nephew (a junior groomsman) was pretty candid about his boredom with formal pictures..he kept asking if “we were at least halfway done yet!”

If you could do it all over, would you change anything? We would have made sure we indulged in our ice cream bar for dessert. We were too distracted on the dance floor!

Where did you go on your honeymoon? Mauritius, an island off the coast of Madagascar!
